Subcutaneous Mastectomy is the removal of breast tissue while transplanting the nipple-areola complex. Dr. Christine McGinn, D.O. performs several variations of this surgery, including Double Incision, Concentric Circular, Semi-circular and Keyhole; however, most patients will require Double Incision with nipple grafting.This is an outpatient procedure, however you are not permitted to drive or be alone for 24 hours following surgery.
Requirements
All patients must not smoke for one month prior to any surgery.Papillon Center follows the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) guidelines for transgender surgery. One letter of recommendation is required by Papillon Center before surgery. This letter can be from a psychologist, therapist, psychiatrist, sexologist or counselor that has been in regular contact with you. Papillon Center can work with patients that have insufficient recommendations.

Initial Consultation
A consultation is required to setup a surgery date. It is preferable that it takes place in person in our office, however Papillon Center will make accommodations for individuals on a case by case basis.The procedure is outlined, including risks, complications, and possible outcomes. Dr. McGinn will go over past surgical results, including pictures, as well as expectations and limitations. It is important to be honest and ask questions about subjects that you do not understand.
